Please feel free to add your comments to it.Ravihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17449161288199059003noreply@blogger.comBlogger21100tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31209471.post-1156698685894852012006-08-27T09:33:00.000-07:002006-08-27T10:11:25.936-07:00As any other tamil film fan I wanted to watch the movie Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu in the first<br />week of release so that I could go around and boast to my friends back in India that I've<br />seen the film first :) Well if that is the case I gotta think twice before I do that coz<br />I feel the film doesn't live upto my expectation if not the majority of Kamal's fans.<br /> I just don't want to spend much of my space here to give the details of the story<br />as some of the bloggers who are reading this might want to still see the movie. People who<br />have seen "Khakka Khakka" would clearly say the director is Gautam without looking back.<br />The same stereotype villain with long hairs and unshaved beared (at times) and same type of<br />dialogue delivery as well.<br /> I don't wanna be captious with Gautam's direction as a programmer I tend to be<br />steroetype too. Imagine if you have designed a piece of code and everybody in the company<br />finds that to be super stable, will you not have the reflections of that in your future<br />projects ? well that is precisely what Gautam has done... You could see every inch of it<br />in Kamal's, villain's and everybody's portrail of their charactor. Having said that this<br />movie (personally) is no match to Khakka Khakka in terms of screenplay. The screenplay is<br />the same old model sequels of the 80s.<br /> I was chatting with some of my friends that time it stuck me that if shankar has<br />directed this movie how could it be ? I'm a great fan of shankar so may be my views are<br />biased may be. I strongly feel that shankar's screenplay is totally unmatchable and he<br />really has the charisma of moving the movie really quick without making audience look for<br />their watch for time. There are lot of open questions in various parts of the movie which is<br />really not explicitly expressed and few unwanted additions like NYPD. If Gautam has opted to<br />reveal the suspense by the interval I guess he could have done that at the beginning as the<br />movie's direction and prediction of it was quite straight forward to most of the audience. I guess<br />shankar would have made a difference here !!<br /> I could see quite a few plusses in the movie. Songs are really good and two songs<br />the one with Kamalini is really awesome. Missing points are Gautam's screenplay, Kamal's<br />normal differentiators (even his traditional kiss :)) is also missing. There can be many<br />more plusses and minuses but I find these two things that are vital that is missing.<br /><br />So if you planning for a weekend movie.. well look before you leap. Well no... probably I'm not interested... Does that mean I have other intersting things to do ? Well probably no sometimes I just sit in the corner of the sofa on a lathargic weekend and just wondering what should I do now... Then why the heck I didn't start a blog... Didn't I know what to publish ?
